Our customers

In their own words.

  • seemy.beer is the perfect companion to my PerfectDraft machine. At a glance, I can see which beer is loaded, its story, the temperature and how many pints are left - without having to open the app. It's brilliantly geeky, genuinely useful and complements the machine perfectly!

  • Really great little addition to a PerfectDraft machine, especially for the beer nerds out there. Interesting to find out more of the history for some beers and it's really handy to just look at the machine rather than check the app. Highly recommended.

  • I recently set up the screen for my PD Pro, absolutely love it, very cool addition to my set up.

What it does

How do I see which keg is in my PerfectDraft?

The sign stands by the machine and shows the keg that is on now: the name, the brewery, the ABV and how much is left. On a PerfectDraft Pro it keeps itself up to date. On any other model you pick the keg once and the sign does the rest.

Three modes do that job and they differ only in how the sign learns what is on tap. Standalone talks to PerfectDraft directly, Home Assistant reads sensors you already run, and Manual lets you hand-pick the keg. Compare the three modes, or read what the tap sign is and how to get one.

  • Live keg, and the story in the glass

    Standalone or Home Assistant

Volume remaining, serving temperature and freshness, all updated on their own. No getting your phone out and opening the app just to see how much is left. A rotating story screen names the brewery, where it’s really brewed, the ABV and the origin, and that part works in every mode.

  • Free with Home Assistant

Already run the PerfectDraft integration? The sign reads your sensors. No subscription, no sign-in.

  • Works with every PerfectDraft

No Pro? Manual mode fits the PerfectDraft and PerfectDraft Black, which have no app of their own. Pick your keg by hand.

  • Automatic updates

The sign updates itself, for free, and you never have to plug it into anything. Fixes and new features simply turn up.

  • Never goes dark

If PerfectDraft ever change how their app talks to the machine, Manual mode carries on regardless. You keep a working sign while we sort it out.

  • Stout mode

    Beta

Nitro stouts tell the machine almost nothing, and their dispense tube is meant to be fresh each session. The sign works the pour out another way and reminds you before the next pint is a flat one.

    How stout mode works

Manual mode shows your keg, its story and the date you tapped it. It cannot read live volume, temperature or freshness, because those come from the machine itself and only a PerfectDraft Pro reports them. Compare the three modes.

Standalone

PerfectDraft Pro, no Home Assistant

£5 /mo

The sign talks to PerfectDraft directly for live keg, volume, temperature and freshness, updated automatically. No Home Assistant required. Includes Manual mode too.

Manual

PerfectDraft or PerfectDraft Black

£3 /mo

Pick your current keg by hand from the catalogue. Fits the PerfectDraft and PerfectDraft Black, which have no app of their own, and doubles as a fallback on a Pro if the PerfectDraft connection ever changes.

Prices are in pounds and exclude VAT. In the UK there is no VAT to add. Elsewhere, your country’s VAT is added at checkout and shown before you pay.

Standalone includes everything Manual does, so paying £5 still lets you hand-pick a keg whenever you want, with no plan change and nothing to switch.

Getting one

Two ways to get the hardware.

The sign itself is a one-off purchase, separate from any subscription. Buy the screen and a stand and flash it yourself, or wait for the ready-made one.

Build your own

Just the parts No subscription included

Easier than it sounds. Buy the screen and a stand, plug it into your computer, and press a few buttons in your browser to load our software onto it. That is what flashing means, and it only happens once. After that the sign updates itself and you will not need the cable again. A case is optional, and you can add one later.

  • Buy the screen and a stand yourself
  • Flash it from your browser, nothing to install
  • Ten minutes, once, and the guide walks you through it
  • A case is optional, print or buy one whenever

Frequently asked

Which machines work?

seemy.beer works with all of them, but not in the same mode. A PerfectDraft Pro or Pro Black works with Standalone or Home Assistant, because those read the machine’s own connection. A PerfectDraft or PerfectDraft Black has no app of its own for them to read, so Manual mode is the one that fits: you pick the keg by hand and the sign does the rest.

Will it know my beer?

Almost certainly. A seemy.beer sign carries a catalogue of more than a hundred kegs from around fifty breweries, each with its own name, brewery and artwork, so putting one on is usually all you have to do. The aim is every keg PerfectDraft sell, so a new one goes in soon after they release it and your sign picks it up on its own.

See the kegs we recognise
Will it keep getting better?

Yes, and there is nothing for you to do. New kegs arrive on their own, without an update, and the sign installs firmware updates itself when there are fixes or new features. Everything we have shipped so far is listed on the releases page at seemy.beer, with the date and what changed in it.

See what has changed so far
Do I need Home Assistant?

No. Standalone mode exists for exactly this, with the sign talking to PerfectDraft directly. But if you already run Home Assistant with the PerfectDraft integration, the software is free, with no subscription on top of the sign itself.

How does the subscription reach my sign?

You subscribe from the sign itself, while you are setting it up. Pick a paid mode and the sign opens checkout in a new tab, already knowing which sign it is and which plan you chose. Come back afterwards and it spots the subscription on its own. If one ever lapses, the sign shows a QR code that does the same job. Because the sign identifies itself you can pay with any email address. That is also why you cannot subscribe from the seemy.beer website: there would be no sign for the subscription to attach to.

I have two signs. Do I pay twice?

Each sign is its own subscription, because billing is per device. Two signs on one machine means two subscriptions.

What’s the free trial?

Every paid mode starts with a 14-day free trial, beginning when you subscribe. You enter card details at checkout so the sign keeps working when the trial ends, but nothing is taken until then, and cancelling before the 14th day costs you nothing. One trial per sign.

My sign says there’s less in the keg than I know there is.

The sign can only show what PerfectDraft reports, and you will see the same figure in the official app. It is worth trying a combination of restarting the machine, retapping the keg, or simply pouring a few drinks, after which it usually calibrates itself.

My sign says the keg is empty, but I can still pour from it.

The sign shows what PerfectDraft reports, and the official app will be telling you the same thing. In practice, once it reads empty you can often get another pint or two out of the keg before it really is. That is a limitation of the PerfectDraft itself, so there is nothing we can fix at our end.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Plans are monthly and you can cancel any time from the billing portal. See the Terms for the full cancellation and refund policy.

What if PerfectDraft change how their app works?

Your sign won’t go dark. Standalone owners can switch to Manual mode and keep using the sign while (or whether) a fix lands. That is the reason Manual exists as a fallback.
